1. Research4Life: A. Access to Global Online Research in Agriculture (AGORA)  

AGORA is one of the five databases under the Reseach4Life programmes.


It was set up by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO) together with major publisher and provides access to a collection of up to 10,000 key journals and up to 26,500 books in the fields of food, agriculture, environmental science and related social sciences.


2. Access to Research in Health programme (HINARI)  

HINARI is another database of the Research4Life programme managed by the World Health Organization (WHO) in partnership with Yale University Library and up to 150 publishers.


HINARI provides access to up to 13,500 journals, up to 60,000 e-books, and up to 110 other information resources. The journals can be searched through a special version of PubMed (Medline), and other article indexes.


3. Online Access to Research in the Environment (OARE)  

OARE enables developing countries to gain access to one of the world’s largest collections of environmental science research; encompassing Biology; Biotechnology, Genetics & Genetically Modified Species; Botany & Plant Biodiversity; Climatology, Climate Change & Meteorology; Ecology & Wildlife Conservation; Energy Conservation & Renewable Energy; Environmental Chemistry; Environmental & Natural Resource Economics; Environmental Engineering; Environmental Law, Policy & Planning; Fish & Fisheries; Forests & Forestry; Geography, Population Studies & Migration; Geology & Earth Sciences; Natural Environmental Disasters; Oceanography & Marine Biology; Pollution & Environmental Toxicology; Satellite & Remote Sensing Technologies; Soil Sciences and Desertification; Waste Management; Water, Hydrology & Wetlands; Zoology & Animal Biodiversity.



EBSCOhost is a Database of Databases. It enables a multi-database Search. It gives access to full-text information from more than 6,000 magazines, journals, and newspapers. Includes e-books, biographies, radio and TV transcripts, geographic information, primary sources, images, maps, and more.


5. The Essential Electronic Agricultural Library (TEAL)  

The Essential Electronic Agricultural Library (TEEAL), is a full-text and searchable database of PDF articles from more than 450 high-quality research journals in agriculture and the related sciences. Free access is only within the Federal University of Agriculture community network.
